New Berlin, WI – APSP 2012 Bronze Award of Excellence Winner for Pool Renovation
The swimming pool project rather simple on paper. Remove a fiberglass swimming pool that was installed incorrect from a large Milwaukee Swimming Pool Company, and install a vinyl liner swimming pool in its place. The area that the pool was placed in had water issues and the resulting hydrostatic pressure heaved and broke the bottom of the fiberglass swimming pool.
The original fiberglass swimming pool builder neglected to install a sump system so the resulting ground water ruined the pool. Penguin Pools excavated the old fiberglass swimming pool along with all the soil around it till we got to virgin ground. Next we had to fill and compact the hole back up with crushed limestone so that the area was strong enough to build a new pool on. Once the area was ready and prepped, we dug the hole for the new swimming pool.
The customer wanted to keep their fence layout, so we had to build the pool with roughly 5′ of work space all the way around the pool. The customer re-used their slide and we installed a new auto cover for them along with all new equipment and plumbing lines. Penguin Pools met the customer’s needs and wants by adding in a safety ledge all the way around the pool so they have a place to stand in the shallow end.
Thank to everyone who helped with this project.
