Penguin Pools charge a flat fee for basic leak detection and leak repair on standard pools. This covers the majority of leaks on the inside of the pool (Vinyl Liner, Fiberglass or Concrete). Pools that are leaking less than 2 inches a day are most likely to have these types of leaks.

The advanced leak detection is for pools that are leaking more than 2 inches of water a day. This usually means that there is a broken pipe underground and that it will need to be presure tested. A preusre test will usually find the leak but we might have to use listening devices called geophones, to pinpoint the leak location. Penguin Pools will provide a free quote for the cost of the repair and the repair prices vary due to the location and the extent of the underground leak.

Here is a summary of what our swimming pool leak technicians do to find your pool leaks. First they inspect the pool equipment for any leaks and air pockets, plus inspect the perimeter of the pool/spa for any water features around the pool. Then, if necessary, the technician presure tests each plumbing line, and inspects the lights, tiles, and the main drain. For fiberglass pools the technician then checks the surface for cracks while for vinyl liner pools we check for seam seperations and holes.

For presure testing Penguin Pools will seal off all of the plumbing and using air pressure will find out where the air is leaking out.

Once the leak is found, Penguin Pools will repair the leak and monitor it to make sure it holds. Depending on the severaty of the leak we will fix the leak or run you a completely new line.
