This project was a full rip-out and re-installation of a new custom free-form Figure 8 swimming pool. The customer had drawn up this pool based on what they wanted and what they had seen in other pools. The equipment in the pool house was reused; however, getting the piping to the equipment proved harder than we first thought. The customer also added a custom waterfall to be built around the slide to make it look integrated.
What the Figure 8 Pool Remodeling Process Required
Since the current pool was being removed, Penguin Pools had to compact the pool as we went to simulate virgin ground. By placing crushed limestone and compacting it down, we were able to give the swimming pool a solid foundation so that it would not shift or settle.
To further enhance the look of the pool, the customer went with pool steps that matched in vinyl liner. The customer also hooked up the pool equipment, lights, and heater to his home automation system so that he could control it from the house or anywhere in the world that he had an internet connection.
